Day-3

Prelude to 5,000 miles...
Although
the crew are all tired from a full days drive to Tennessee and from
less than 4-hours of sleep, we were all up early and ready
to begin our journey. A few last minute mechanical and safety checks
on the motorcycles and tape and battery checks on the cameras, equipment
and bike-cams, we rode off to the start of the Trans-America Trail.
Our first stop was to film a scenic overlook above Jellico. Michael
snapped a few production stills while Mathew filmed James and Steven
before beginning the 5,000 mile ride.
Because
we arrived at Cumberland Falls so late the night before (around 2:00am)
and wern't able to actually see the falls, we decided to go back,
this time on our motorcycles, to take a few still photos and to see
if we could interview a local historian about the area. The interview
with the historian didn't work out but we did come across a reporter
for a local newspaper who interviewed us and took a few photos for
his paper and for the paper's website. The day finished off
with our new ritual of setting up for the video diaries and getting
ready for the next day of filming and riding.
