Once again we hope this letter finds you all well. James has been hard at work getting our new trailers up and running. So far what I have seen of it looks great! We hope to be able to show them to you shortly but due to some scheduling complications, which you'll read about in this newsletter, you'll have to wait a little longer. So let's get into it!

Steven Beatty

James and I started doing voice over work for the Road Less Traveled. This was a very interesting but sometimes frustrating experience. While waiting for me to show up, James recorded all his lines. By doing this he was able work with his audio and get it pretty well nailed down before I got there.

On the other hand I found the process of recording voice overs somewhat challenging. My problem was that the script was written as a conversation between myself and James. But James had already recorded his part. Now this technique is used regularly in films. Many times an actor may be all alone when shooting a scene but when we see it on the screen there are other characters. It's weird and hard to adjust to.

So, needless to say I was talking to myself with the microphone and trying to make it seem as interactive as possible. Try carrying on a conversation with someone who isn't there! It's harder than it sounds.

James would record my lines and then playback my lines with his previously recorded lines. Then he would ask me to record the line again, and again, and again. Each time it was supposed to be different. So by the end of it I was doing impersonations of John Travolta, Larry King, and Ronald Reagan. That gave him something different to work with!
James is headed out to California at the end of April to shoot with Rick Johnson. You may recall from our last newsletter that he was originally supposed to be out there next week. Unfortunately a complication with RJ's scheduling meant James having to push back his shooting schedule with Rick.

So what happened? Well you may or may not know that Rick has a great show on the SPEED CHANNEL called EPIC RIDE. It’s on Tuesday nights so make sure to check it out. Anyway, one of his co-stars, Mike Metzger, had a bad crash while attempting a motorcycle back flip jump between two barges that were floating in Long Beach Harbor. "Metz" broke his back, but according to Rick is up and walking now. We’re all greatful for that and wish "Metz" all our best.

That's the background of the matter, but how does that effect us? Metzger’s crash means that http://www.speedtv.com/programs/483/ shooting schedule had to be pushed back which meant overlapping James’s shoot with RJ. Not to fear though, Rick Johnson is still very committed to our project. We just had to reschedule for late April.

It’s a bit of a bummer for us because the full-length RLT movie trailer, which is almost ready to be shown, has a couple of camera appearances from RJ written into it. That means that right now they are just black holes in the trailer where RJ's parts will be. Plus the RLT movie is being primarily narrated by the “Bad Boy” himself (one of Rick Johnson’s racing nicknames), so we need his voice recording before we can complete the trailer. As seems to be the case with this project, patience will have to prevail again, but it will be worth it, trust me.
James is going to try to get another Teaser Trailer cut before the next newsletter and on the website before he takes off for Cali. As our loyal fans you will, of course, be the first to know when it is available.

In the meantime we’ve have our next exclusive trip clip from some of our raw stock footage for you to enjoy! Remember, this footage is exclusive to you, our newsletter subscribers. We hope you enjoy this trip clip from when we met up with Sam Correro (the founder of the Trans Am Trail) down in Mississippi.
